These are the days of great trial

Please don't label me a bigot for saying this but now that the LGBT-church debate is on the move, let me just say that I really don't think people who don't know or read the bible should be telling us what God does or does not like, or who God is or is not. Granted, some things in the bible are like literature - open to interpretation, ambiguous and cryptic at best. That's the reason why denominations are formed, why cult groups arise. Because not everyone reads and interprets the bible the same way. Fine, we give you that.

But some things are clear-cut. If you're saying that theologians, people who study the bible, and all these men of God have completely misread the bible on its stand about homosexual relationships (and the many other kinds I don't even know what kinds there are anymore), and that God loves us enough not to condemn those who choose to revel in their sinful ways, I'd say that you really need to actually read the bible, and tell me you still believe that with a straight face.

Don't just base your conceptions on who God is by the banners you see outside churches. They are true, don't get me wrong, but they're but ONE verse out of the 30,000 over verses there are in the bible. Want the complete picture? Read the bible.

If you'd like to fight this debate on the basis that you don't subscribe to the ideals that our religion holds strongly to, fair enough. But don't forge your swords on the back of God's word. That's just insulting.
