Going to uncover the thought processes of 20-year old me and my writing style/prowess at the time. This ought to be interesting.
I've got my diary next to me and 2-year old pictures on the brink of stardom. Ready, guys? These next few posts are a homage to June - July 2013.

SINGAPORE flight to ZURICH, SWITZERLAND train-ride to SALZBURG, AUSTRIA
The home of Sound of Music. It is not the 28th of June and Jie, Yizhang, and I have arrived in Austria from Switzerland after dumping our bags and repacking our things at 二姑's house. A night train ride, a crowded cabin with less-than-ideal socialising conditions later, here we are in Salzburg. Good morning (:

The plane ride to Zurich was, to say the least, uneventful. Had to dose myself with ginger pills, mentos, orange juice and a healthy bout of sleep and inactivity to pass the 13 hours spent on a Singapore Airline flight - thank God. The food was amazingly beautiful and looked irresistible on the neatly packaged menu. Proud to be Singaporean - once again, thank God.

Several points on the flight, I thought that I'd met my demise - turbulence + frantic (or controlled, discernibly so) coaxing from stewardess for passengers to return to their seats had me face down in the palms of my hands, bracing myself for impact, in dreaded anticipation for the end. Nothing like a pseudo-near death experience to put everything in perspective. Cold sweat, lump in throat, darkness. Darkness all around. And even now on solid ground, the room still rocks, albeit gently, and as if embarrassedly (could be a word, at least in Salzburg).

Well, anyway. Here's to Salzburg and the rest of this trip. And to not being such a meathead or a bratty younger sister. Here's to that.
