The general response I get when I speak of my January is that of antipathy. And, I suppose, in our Asian culture, for good reason. But it's difficult to find the interest to protest because this January has been. spectacular. To be immersed in 1990s Sudan with their genocides and wars, to have concocted remedies for hunger. To have flown through the air on machines that whir, and dashed through the seas in the rain and with salt in our song. To have seen a million pictures in motion and to have loved every minute with new and old friends. This January has been a blessing. I thank God with all my heart.
