strangely dim

Turn your eyes upon Jesus / Look full in His wonderful face / And the things of earth will grow strangely dim / In the light of His glory and grace
.
And there she was, so perfectly. So unassuming, so harmless and so young. So broken-hearted, so old, so sad. She was a pretty creature and though the sun has rosied her cheeks and kissed them with freckles, and though the lines on her face contour traces of laughter so deeply that they fall into the same webs of patterns everytime she opens her pretty mouth to laugh, she still is a pretty creature. The world is unkind, ruthless, relentless and unforgiving. But though we are in this world, let us not be of this world. Let us hold steadfast to the promises that our Heavenly Father has bestowed unto us so that no tongue can bid us thence depart as long as He stands high up in heaven, watching us, protecting us and loving us. Everything else is meaningless. And whilst that remains, please be strong and look upward. For the things on earth will grow strangely dim when we hold it against the light of His glory and grace.
